Karen S. (Hilliard) Parker, 55, of Manchester, NH, died July 25, 2013, at Community Hospice House, surrounded by her loving family, after a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
Born in Manchester, NH on June 8, 1958, she was the daughter of Theodore G. and Barbara (Siddall) Hilliard, Sr.
Karen graduated from Pinkerton Academy, Class of 1976. She earned a LPN certificate from Saint Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in 1980 and an associate degree in nursing from New Hampshire Technical Institute in 1990.
Early in her career, she was a nurse at Hampstead Hospital for several years. In 1990, Karen became affiliated with Bird Bath Laundromats which she later owned and operated.
Karen will be remembered for her selfless ways. She took great joy in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her mother of Bonita Springs, Florida; family members include her beloved husband of twenty-two years, Gerald Parker of Manchester; her daughter, Jennifer Wheeler and her husband, Anthony, of New Boston; her son, Jarred Parker and his wife, Melanie, of Avon, CT; three step children, Gary Parker of New Boston, Timothy Parker and his companion, Jennie, of Manchester, and Debra Parker of Manchester; four grandchildren, Dilyla and Taylor Wheeler, Jackson and Meredith Parker, as well as a fifth grandchild who is expected in November, "Spares" Parker; five step-grandchildren; Briannah Straffin, Mitchell and Hanna Tack, Zachary Parker, and AJ Tim; a sister, Candace Balles of Bonita Springs, FL; three brothers, Theodore Hilliard, Jr. and his wife, Robin, of New Boston, Mark Hilliard and his wife, Gina, of Auburn, and Russell Hilliard and his wife, Shawne, of Litchfield; a very dear friend and sister-in-law, Barbara Parker of Manchester; a special nephew, Kirk Balles of Manchester; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins and a special thank you to her good friends, Debra DerManoogian and Robin Simard.
Services: Calling hours are Tuesday from 10AM to 12 PM at the Connor-Healy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 537 Union Street, corner of Concord Street, Manchester, NH.
A funeral service will follow at 12 PM in the funeral home with the Rev. Douglas Rickard officiating.
