Francis J. Martin, 93, of Bedford, NH, died August 10, 2012, at Catholic Medical Center, after a period of failing health.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on December 28, 1918, he was the son of Francis and Mary (Glomb) Ostroski. He resided in Sinking Spring, PA for many years before moving to Bedford in 2004.
Mr. Martin earned a bachelor of arts degree in business commerce from Penn State University.
During War World II, he served with the United States Navy aboard the USS Arizona.
Until his retirement, he was a field representative with the Social Security Administration for more than twenty years.
He was a communicant of Saint Joseph Cathedral.
He enjoyed playing the saxophone, singing, and spending time with his family.
He was married to Genevieve (Petrosky) Martin who died in 2006.
Family members include two sons, Joseph F. Martin of Palo Alto, CA, and Steven F. Martin and his wife, Jeanne, of Bedford, NH; his daughter, Kimberly I. DiOrio and her husband, Steven, of Merrimack; five grandchildren; his brother, Leo Martin; several nieces and nephews.
Services: The funeral will be held Tuesday with a mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10AM in Saint Joseph Cathedral, Pine Street, Manchester. A calling hour will take place Tuesday from 9:15 to 10 AM in the cathedral.
